You guys, if you know me, then you know I love a good getaway. Even better if we can mix in lots of yoga, healthy food, bonfires, and a bit of relaxation, too. I've had so many questions about the most recent retreat that took place April 7 - 9, 2017 (and, yes, we're totally planning another very soon!). So, here you go - hear it all straight from the yogis that were there:
Hot oil on my forehead...
"I expected to learn the basics at our Yoga Dear Retreat – was my back sitting correctly in downward dog? Why does pigeon feel so awkward? How do I get started at home? But, what I got was so much more. I got to focus on myself and spend some much needed quiet time in a beautiful ashram in the Poconos.
I got to meet some amazing women – who laughed SO MUCH – at the lunch table, in the coffee shop, around the campfire and in the classroom. I got to try some new things – henna on my arm, sure – hot oil in the center of my forehead for 30 min, why not? (If you’re not sure what I’m talking about check it out - Shirodhara).
Finally, we all got to the have the energy of Leanne and Eugene for a few days who bring joy and lift up whatever space they are in. Leanne’s kindness and love and passion for the practice of yoga is contagious and to be able to get to spend a weekend with her and 14 other amazing women (and Eugene) was priceless. I left the retreat understanding more the ever the power of the practice of yoga – especially with friends. I can’t wait for the next one!" - Michele Kittell
A time for true connection
"The Yoga Dear Retreat was a beautiful weekend to reset, develop a deeper understanding of yoga, and to engage with members of the Yoga Dear community. I loved the balance of well-structured class time for yoga, breaking down the poses, and furthering my knowledge of the chakras, while also having time to meet new people, to schedule a massage or, enjoy some tea and quiet time for reflection.
The staff at the Himalayan Institute was so friendly! And, I loved the food! One of the most enjoyable aspects of the retreat was connecting with everyone in our group. One member of our group stated that it had been a long time since she laughed as much she did on the retreat! We truly enjoyed our time together. Many thanks to Leanne and Eugene for making the retreat such a success!" - Amy Liberatore
To read more about the most recent Yoga Dear Private Retreat, please check out this page. We had four yoga classes (yes four!), Ayurvedic style fresh food, energetic and physical body yoga workshops, and a special bonfire...just for us (there might have been beavers flopping around in the water and an encounter with a small animal in the dark)! Plus, the Himalayan Institute offered wellness packages and Henna art, too. Have you attended a yoga retreat? What did you learn? What interests you in going on a yoga retreat or vacay? Please share! With love, Leanne
